About Orthodose

Created to simplify
the opioid conversion and calculation of rescue doses.

The Orthodose app was born in 2019 out of the bedside care of palliative patients — to simplify the calculation of opioid doses, rescue doses and subcutaneous equivalents. Designed and developed by a doctor specialising in palliative care, Orthodose software has proven to be an innovative and effective tool for healthcare professionals.

Our practice contains valuable instruments — palliative medicine and reviews — all the information easy to access.

Six tools

Everything you need at the bedside.

Opioid conversions, rescue doses, subcutaneous compatibility, syringe mixing, benzodiazepine switching and corticosteroid equivalents — in one app, in seconds.

01 · Conversion

Opioid Switcher

Opioid Switcher's bedside calculation transforms one molecule into another, with no need to do mental arithmetic. The most-used and most thoroughly validated tool we ship.

02 · Acute pain

Rescue dose

An opioid rescue dose is a patient's lifeline. Orthodose's calculation is reviewed and validated, accounting for the route of administration and the type of analgesia in play.

03 · Subcutaneous

Subcut

Subcut maps the compatibility of multiple molecules in a single subcutaneous syringe — vital for end-of-life care where the SC route is the only one possible.

04 · Equivalence

Mix & Match

Mix & Match lets you pick whichever molecule you prefer to use to treat the symptom in play. We give you all the equivalence tables, so the clinical decision stays with you.

05 · Anxiolytics

Benzo Switcher

It isn't safe to swap one benzodiazepine for another mid-route — yet sometimes there's no alternative. Benzo Switcher gives you the equivalence table, and the warnings if there's a risk.

06 · Corticosteroids

Corticodose

Corticodose, the corticosteroid converter built into Orthodose — gives you the same precision and validation we apply to opioids: equivalences, anti-inflammatory and mineralocorticoid power, all in one place.

Trusted by practitioners

From the wards, not from marketing.

Real feedback from doctors and pharmacists who use Orthodose in their daily practice.

As a home palliative care nurse, I work alongside family doctors and rely on Orthodose primarily for opioid rotation and breakthrough pain dose calculations.

Since I discovered Orthodose, I have made it a habit to use it regularly for opioids and corticosteroids.
